Weʼre raising £2,262 to pay PPL & PRS £579.49, PMSE £832.00 & Ofcom £850 to help keep GFM 96.6 on-air playing the music you love, news, information & advice
Gloucester FM 96.6 is Gloucestershire longest running community radio, on the 6th October 2019 GFM will have been broadcasting to the citizens of Gloucester and beyond for 19 years
The vision of GFM is to Empower, Educate & Entertain, through Music, News, Information & Advice
GFM became a member of the community radio association in 2001, the CRA is now known as the Community Media Association, and GFM is a member of the CMA.
GFM community radio provides radio services to individuals who are otherwise under-served by such services, it facilitates discussion and the expression of opinions that might not be aired on mainstream radio stations, provides training and better understanding of the community and the strengthening of links within it.
GFM is unique in what it delivers to listeners, GFM promotes the delivery of services provided by local authorities and other public services, economic development and of social enterprises, employment, opportunities for the gaining of work experience, social inclusion; cultural and linguistic diversity, civic participation and volunteering.
There are currently 49 volunteers from 16 – 60 plus involved with GFM, we are constantly being approached by young people who want to join the GFM Family to do work experience, sadly we don’t have the finance to get the resources required to accommodate the requests. We are seeking on-going support to help fund the new wave of presenters, DJs, producers, and those wanting to get into media within our community.
Through out the life time of GFM there have been 100’s of volunteers that have recived in training and have completed GFM 5 day accredited radio production training and have gone to university.
With your help its very much the GFM family desire to continue broadcasting to the citizen of Gloucester and beyond, we want to continue to serve the community and to give the same opportunities to those that have seen success and are now doing what they love. LONG TERM – we need regular support from our listeners through a one-off donation, or regular direct debit payment.
If 100,000 people gave just £3 each GFM could run for another 12 years
If 50,000 people gave just £3 GFM could run for another 6 years
If 25,000 people gave just £3 GFM could run for another 3 years
Just £5 could help with training, community events, new shows and facilities
