REMINDER TO RESIDENTS – GET PLANTING THIS FRIDAY

Written by on April 14, 2010

Moreland Community Partnership would like to remind residents that the Tuffley Avenue Rose Garden planting day is taking place this Friday, 16th April, 10am-4pm.
Moreland Community Partnership and Gloucester City Council have set up a project to restore the gardens back to an area of beauty.
Funded by Gloucestershire Criminal Justice Board’s Community Cashback scheme and the city council.
During the planting day a mixture of roses and shrubs will be planted by council staff and volunteers to rejuvenate the area.
The project needs the help of as many volunteers as possible to make the garden a success.
Penny Hutchinson, the project leader from Moreland Community Partnership, said “We would love to see as many people on the day as possible to support this project. Any help at all would be appreciated, you do not have to stay all day just pop along anytime and stay as long as you wish.
“Families with children are more than welcome to attend, it should be a fun day out and a chance for children to get some fresh air and learn more about gardening. However, under 16s will need to be accompanied by an adult.
“Bring your own trowel, fork or spade if possible and give as much time as you can. And don’t forget to bring along food and refreshments as it can be hungry work.

For any more information on the planting day please contact Penny Hutchinson on 01452 416410 or 07768612592 or email: morelandcp@hotmail.co.uk
