£40k of drugs seized in Gloucester

Police have seized an estimated £40,000 worth of illegal drugs during a drugs warrant in Gloucester.
 
Officers from the Gloucester Priority Policing Team and the Barton Street Inspector Neighbourhood Area executed a warrant at an address in Stroud Road, Gloucester, at around 11.30am on Monday March 1.
 
Inside the property, officers found approximately half a kilogram of Crack Cocaine and Heroin.
 
This seizure represents the on-going work that is being done to target the use and supply of drugs.
 
A 29-year-old woman from Abbeymead and a 20-year-old man from Gloucester were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of drugs. They have been bailed to return to Gloucester Police Station on May 11 pending further enquiries.
 
Detective Sergeant Alex Mercurio, who planned the operation, said: “This operation has led to the removal of a large amount of class A drugs from our streets.”
