Gloucester City PCSOs Deliver Easter Surprise To Children In Hospital

Written by on April 9, 2010

Officers from Gloucester City Safer Community Team (SCT) helped brighten up Easter for children in hospital in the county over the bank holiday weekend.

Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Jordan White, PCSO Mohamed Ginwalla and PCSO Steph Mason visited the children’s wards of Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital on Easter Sunday to deliver a special surprise for the patients.

PCSO Steph Mason explained how the officers got in the spirit: “PCSO White wore the Easter bunny costume and handed out special Easter bunnies all donated from the Easter Bunny Foundation UK. In the afternoon we visited Cheltenham children’s ward with PCSO Susan Greenwood from Cheltenham SCT.

“The kids seemed to really enjoy meeting us and asking about our work. Building relationships with young people in the county and being visible in the community is a vital part of our role. Hospital can obviously be a miserable place to be at Easter so we hope we managed to make it a little bit more exciting for the children.”
