Linden Officers At Police Information Point This Thursday

Written by on June 2, 2010

Police from the Linden community are inviting local residents to come and meet them at the Police Information Point (PIP) at the Lighthouse Family Centre, Linden Road, this Thursday, June 3.

Officers from the team, who patrol the community and are specifically tasked with tackling the policing priorities for the area with partner agencies, will be at the centre from 2pm to 3pm.

PC Peter Curtis, of the local Safer Community Team (SCT), said: “Please come along and meet us. As well as talking to us regarding any issues you have in your community this is a great opportunity to get to know your local officers and share your concerns with them.

“Events like this bring us closer to local people and are crucial in raising confidence in the work we are doing on behalf of residents.

“Cycling issues, parking offences and anti-social behaviour have been the prevalent concerns of people living in the area in recent months. If you want to talk to us about these matters, or anything else, please come and see us.”

PIPs are used throughout the county. They display details and contact information of local officers and local policing priorities, and are positioned in places that are likely to be visible to residents in the area.

They also hold copies of a community leaflet that can be filled by residents with any issues they may have. Completed leaflets can be placed directly into a locked letterbox for a police officer to collect. Officers attend a PIP in Linden at least once a month to meet residents.
