Stolen Van dumped in Hare Lane

Police are appealing for witnesses after a stolen van was abandoned in Hare Lane, Gloucester, following a police pursuit.

The white Ford Transit van was stolen between 5pm on Friday March 5 and 8.15am on Saturday March 6 from a warehouse in Lower Tuffley Lane.

During the burglary the offender(s) also attempted to steal a Renault Clio and a Mercedes van.

The van was later seen by officers in Gloucester but the driver failed to stop and a pursuit began.

At around 10am on Saturday March 6, the stolen van was driven through the pedestrian area of Southgate Street and then onto Northgate Street before it was dumped in Hare Lane and the driver ran from the vehicle.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the van being driven in the area of The Cross or who saw the driver run from the vehicle.

A 25-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He has been bailed to return to Gloucester Police Station on April 29.
