Working for peace in the face of tragedy and loss
Monday 16th May 2011 at 7pm: Friendship Cafe, Barton Street, Gloucester GL1 4HR
Manal Timraz, Palestinian restaurant owner (Habibi in Coventry) and peace activist will speak on how and why she still works for peace in the face of deep personal loss at the next Bring & Share Community Supper on Monday 16th May 2011, starting at 7pm, in The Friendship Cafe, Barton Street, Gloucester.
Just over two years ago 15 of her relatives were killed during Operation Cast Lead, when Israel carried out airstrikes against Gaza, causing severe damage to the infrastructure and much loss of life.
During the evening Manal will share her insight into what it takes to work for peace, despite the traumatic circumstances.
The evening is coordinated by UK based registered charity Spirit of Peace in partnership with the Friendship Cafe.
You are warmly invited to attend this interesting evening. Admission is free, but please bring some food to share (without meat or alcohol).
