Gloucester Carnival is back in 2011 for its 75th year – Get involved!
Written by adminChris on June 8, 2011
Being the 75th year of Gloucester’s Carnival Procession, we would like to get as many new faces involved as possible and want YOU to take part!
We would also appreciate it if you could help us to spread the word – We’ve got Five Good Reasons why people should get involved:-
1. New route! This year we will be making our way through the city centre so that more of Gloucester’s residents and shoppers can enjoy the excitement of the carnival.
2. It’s Free! It’s totally free for people to take part in the carnival, as long as they’re not a business or commercial organisation (in this case it only costs £25).
3. Come One, Come All! The carnival is open to everyone, not just groups and organisations. Individuals, a bunch of friends, absolutely anyone who wants to can join the parade.
4. School’s Out For Summer! This year’s carnival is happening the weekend that schools break up, meaning pupils, teachers and staff from city schools can get together before saying goodbye to each other for the summer.
5. It’s Circus Time! The carnival is always lots of fun, and it feels great to be part of something special that brings the community together. In 2011 we want to create the largest walking circus Gloucester has ever seen!
We have enclosed an application pack for you – If you would like to take part in the parade, simply complete the form and return it to Carnival Entry, Gloucester Guildhall, 23 Eastgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 1NS.
