Tredworth Tenants Take Pride

Written by on July 17, 2011

GCH’s Community Pride Team held a successful event at Parry Gardens, Tredworth on Thursday. The GCH team was joined by a number of local residents, along with staff from Lovell, Enterprise, GL Communities ‘Dig Deep ‘team and Gloucestershire Police.

The day was spent weeding and tidying as well as painting fencing and benches, to complement the work already carried out by residents who look after the gardens. Residents were also able to try their hand at some DIY skills such as tiling, maintaining locks and fixing shelves thanks to a demonstration by Lovell. At the end of the event the gardens looked fantastic, with an amazing display of colourful plants in the borders.

GCH Resident Involvement Coordinator Lyn Scudamore said: ‘Our Community Pride programme helps residents to improve their local environment. This was a great event, which enhanced the work already done by residents at Parry Gardens. I would like to thank all our partners for their continued support.’

Chair of Tredworth Estate Tenants and Residents Association, Pat Scannell added: ‘I would like to thank all everyone who helped to improve the gardens today. This is a wonderful area for residents to enjoy during the summer months. We would like to thank all the partners who put so much effort in today, particularly Gloucester City Homes for their continued support in delivering these Pride Days. They have made such a difference to Tredworth and the homesand communities in Gloucester they manage.’

GCH’s next Community Pride event is at Westgate on Thursday 21st July starting at 10am. For more information about this or any other GCH event visit www.gloscityhomes.co.uk or GCHTV on the Looking Local service.
