Appeal to find mystery good Samaritan after Asda car park assault

A good Samaritan who helped an assault victim after an incident in Gloucester is being sought by police.
Officers are appealing for a man who helped the victim of a racially aggravated assault to contact them.
A police spokesman said: “At approximately 10.45pm yesterday, Wednesday September 15, a 22-year-old man was walking from Charles Street in Gloucester into the Asda Car Park on Bruton Way where he was approached by three men.
“They verbally abused him, making reference to his ethnicity, before assaulting him. The offenders then walked off in the direction of Charles Street.
“The victim suffered a minor injury and was treated by paramedics.”
The offenders were all described as white. One was wearing a black casual jacket, black jogging trousers and black Nike trainers. His long black hair was ‘gelled’ into a ‘Mohican’ style.
The spokesman added: “Shortly after the incident a man, believed to be around 30-years-old, approached the victim and helped him towards security staff at the supermarket but had gone before police arrived.
“Officers are eager to speak to him and urge him to contact them on 0845 090 1234.”
Anyone with any information about the assault is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident number 470 of September 15.
