Armed police swoop on Churchdown house and arrest shooting suspect Brett Ireson

A man wanted in connection with an alleged shooting in Matson was arrested in the early hours of this morning.
Police today issued the following statement:
Brett Ireson was arrested in Churchdown in the early hours of today, Wednesday, July 21.
Responding to information from the public, armed police officers attended an address in Sandfield Road, Churchdown and carried out a search warrant.
Just after 2am, Brett Ireson, 27, from Matson, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection to the Matson shooting on July 9 and on suspicion of kidnap in connection to an incident in Dursley on February 14.
A 51-year-old man from Churchdown and a 26-year-old man from Churchdown were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All three men are currently being questioned at Gloucester Police Station.
