Communications at its best

Written by on September 20, 2010

A young city council officer is one of the best at what she does in the country.

Natalie Wilder has been short-listed as ‘Young Communicator of the Year’ in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards.

She works as a communications officer in the award-winning communications and marketing team based at North Warehouse.

Natalie’s work involves dealing with media enquiries, internal communications and working on campaigns such as the introduction of the new recycling scheme and the current zero tolerance anti-litter clamp down.

She is in a short list of five with the others representing local authorities in London, Scotland and Wales.

Councillor Debbie Llewellyn, cabinet member for performance and resources with responsibility for communications, commented: “ I am absolutely delighted that Natalie’s skills and talents have been recognised by her professional peers.

“ The City Council has aspirations to be a top-performing council and nurturing and encouraging this sort of undoubted talent is one of the ways that we will achieve this ambition.”

The winner will be announced by the CIPR in October.
