Development of new school gathering momentum

The Coopers Edge community in Brockworth is invited to come and view the designs for the new school building that they helped to shape next week (Monday 5th July).
More than 100 members of the public gave their feedback on early concept designs during a successful public consultation in May. Gloucestershire County Council, The Coopers Edge School Parent Community Group (CESPCG) and The Robinswood Trust, E G Carters and Roberts Limbrick are now inviting people to a pre-planning consultation evening where they can give feedback on the final design scheme.
The event will be held at The Whittle Inn, Brockworth on Monday 5th July 7-9pm. The meeting will be a drop-in session, so people can come along at any point between those times. Pictures and models of the design will be on display and the design team will be on hand to answer questions.
The temporary governing body of the school has this week advertised for the head teacher who will help transform their vision for the new school into reality.
Joanne Vickers, Chair of Governors and The CESPCG said: “This is a hugely significant month for us. It is over two years now since our group formed, and to see all our many hours of hard work translating into the design of the school and the recruitment of the head teacher is incredibly emotional. We hope as many people as possible take the opportunity to join us at The Whittle.
“As development has picked up recently, we are aware there are many new people moving into Coopers Edge. The group would especially love to hear from new residents. We can be contacted via the website, by calling 07923 599526 or emailing coopersedgeschool@hotmail.com “
