Thought about returning to social work?

Are you a qualified social worker? Gloucestershire County Council is asking social workers to consider a return to the profession.
The council is taking part in a national scheme, working with the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC), to encourage social workers to return to the profession.
Interviews for interested Gloucestershire former social workers will take place on 11th August.
CWDC is currently offering advice and paid training through a series of refresher courses covering current social work theory and practice. Each 20-day course provides advice and practical support in finding a position within a children and families setting.
Cllr Paul McLain, Cabinet member for children and young people, said: “If you are a qualified social worker I would really encourage you to consider a return to the career. The recent cuts that Gloucestershire County Council has been required to make are well-documented but I have always been very clear that we will not compromise on child safety. We will fulfill our commitment to invest in 30 new social workers.”
